Excellent little app. very useful when using Aperture for example, and much easier than using Terminal or opening Onyx.

this app is great! does the job very simple and doesnt take ore than seconds. However, ive learned that i shouldnt "optimize Memory" while im opening/closing apps because thatll just inerrupt the purpose of the app itself and will erase things that are opening in progress thinking that theyre incomplete because the app id be opening is still loading. i hope that makes sense. highly recommend it though =D

Love the app, especially the updated version. With 2 GB RAM on my MBA-II, I am usually down to 0.5 GB after some time on the Internet, and with Numbers and Pages opened. With the Clean Mode feature, I set the memory threshold and depth of the memory-clean, and let the app run in the background without having to worry about running out of RAM. Icon on the menu bar showing RAM usage is also a great visual indicator. Worth every penny!

Ive used a few memory-cleaning apps; in my experience, this app beats the others for speed and amounts of memory recovered. UI is simple and streamlined, without superfluous or cutesy graphics. This is my go-to app for memory cleaning--every time.

i had an older Mac Mini that started slowing down a lot. I increased the memory ( and had to do it professionally, getting that cover off looked daunting) and bought this program to help me keep the machine running smooth. It worked great. Now Ive got a newer Mini, can be a little sloppier with memory (8 G, did it myself) but still find this program handy. Especially after running a few audio production sessions.

I used this for awhile and found that it appeared to do exactly what it claimed to do. However, I found that my 2011 MBP with 16GB RAM with OSX 10.8 was hanging up periodically when iCleanMemory was running its automatic process. Since Ive dumped so much cash into this laptop, I never want to see the beach ball. Since removing the app, I have not had the issue. Please note, same laptop with 8GB RAM and OSX 10.7 worked great. I am suspect that the OS has more to do with the issue than the RAM, but upgraded both together.

If you leave your computer on or in sleep for awhile, the memory slowly gets taken up through apps not fully releasing your memory. This does a great job of just getting back that memory without having to restart. Keeps track in the menu bar of the free and used memory. Very handy.

Im a filmmaker and sometimes have to edit projects on old computers or laptops that have 8 GB or less of RAM. This app means that I can edit medium sized projects on a computer with minimal memory by saving and clicking "optimize memory." A few seconds later, I go from having 20 MB free to having 6 GB free. It is a lot faster than reopening the program or restarting the computer. It really works.

Saved my butt more than once. I do a lot of video and video is very memory intensive. When things get critical (even with 16 gig of ram) I use iCleanMemory to free up more memory. It has never let me down. The reason I rated it with four stars rather than five stars is because the desktop memory monitor is far too large. If it was reduced to a 25% of its size t would be perfect. I am always having to move it around. Dan

Nice little unobtrusive and efficient free app. Even with memory so cheap these days, this is a good app to have no matter how much RAM youve got installed. Would highly recommend.

I noticed that my 2008 circa white Macbook with 4GB RAM would have slow-downs when inactive RAM wasnt being flushed soon enough. I use iCleanMemorys automatic clean feature when my free RAM hits 512MB, which avoids these slow-downs from happening too often. The "Depth" clean mode almost always seems to bring things back to above 2GB free RAM, and I can keep plugging on. The current special $4.99 price makes the purchase of this software completely warranted for those with a similar amount of RAM.

Adobes After Effects Cs6 was creashing like crazy, which was new to me (I use Ae since 1996 -- v3.1) After starting this little app, a 5 Minute long comp with 4K RED files and Open EXR 32bit/c files were rendered without any problems. It takes a short time to clean and then the work continues, fantastic idea. (I was tired to type purge into the terminal every 3 minutes! What a relief this app is) Seriously: Thank you, you have done something, … and Adobe continues to blame Apple for its memory-managenent. Creative solutions are always better -- rather than to argue about the problem itself.

Wish it didnt show in my dock but other than that a great quick app that frees up space and I use it every moment my computer is on!
